BBC Global News

Mary Wilkinson is Head of Editorial Content for the BBC’s commercial international news services. This includes responsibility for all the programming on BBC World News and for the international version of the BBC website,

Her BBC career includes spells as a producer on Radio 4’s World at One, the Nine O’Clock and Six O’Clock Television News and Newsnight, where she spent five years as Deputy Editor.

She joined BBC World News as Commissioning Editor in 2008.

She has executive produced and commissioned a number of award winning documentary series including Collaboration Culture, Horizons and Cybercrimes with Ben Hammersley.

In 2009 she was the Executive Producer for the Royal Television Society’s Cambridge Convention and in 2011 she spent nine months working as Head of the Director General’s Office to the then DG, Mark Thompson.
