Janet Balis leads EY’s global consulting professionals for the Media & Entertainment sector as well as the Americas CMO consulting practice. Janet’s team works across a broad range of clients, including agencies, broadcast and cable networks, cable and satellite providers, publishers and brand marketers. Immediately prior to joining EY, Janet worked extensively across broadcast, digital and print media at highly innovative media and technology companies, working directly with large-scale brand marketers. She was a Partner at technology incubator Betaworks, leading their innovation lab; served as the Publisher of The Huffington Post; and led Sales Strategy and Partnerships at AOL. Previously, she worked at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Time Warner.

Janet has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Columbia University. She serves on the global boards of The Mobile Marketing Association and the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She also serves as an advisor to the Harvard Business School Digital Initiative. She was named one of the 2018 Women to Watch by Multichannel News, one of the 2017 Women of Excellence by the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), one of Advertising Age’s Women to Watch in 2010 and included in Crain’s 40 Under 40 in 2006.
