Strategic Solution
The overarching objectives were to:
- Drive business growth.
- Deepen engagement within our C-suite community.
- Showcase Dow Jones’ B2B solutions.
This would be achieved by leveraging The Wall Street Journal’s editorial authority to convene senior audiences and build a stronger sense of community among them.
The strategic direction was shaped by the insight that elite decision-makers at major global summits have limited time and are exposed to overwhelming noise, making it difficult for any brand to create meaningful engagement. This informed the creation of “Journal House”, a global flagship events franchise positioned at the intersection of content, commerce, and community.
Rather than traditional sponsorship, Journal House transformed WSJ’s presence into a physical event manifestation of the brand: an exclusive, editorially led environment designed to deliver trusted insight and facilitate high-value networking.
The strategy was grounded in hyper-localization and ensuring strong audience relevance across major global cultural moments in 2025 and 2026:
- Cannes Lions Festival (2025): Targeted global CMOs and brand leaders with a focus on marketing innovation.
- UNGA/New York Climate Week (2025): Engaged policymakers and sustainability executives on global governance.
- Singapore F1 Grand Prix (2025): Connected regional business leaders around trade, AI, and geopolitical risk.
- World Economic Forum (Davos, 2026): Targeted CEOs, global policymakers, and industry leaders during the World Economic Forum.
The role of the events was central to the strategy, acting as curated sanctuaries embedded within these global tentpoles. Each Journal House was designed to be hyper-relevant to its audience, combining WSJ journalist-led programming with world-class thinkers to deliver trusted insight in context. This approach repositioned WSJ from a media publisher into an essential convener of global business intelligence, driving both engagement and measurable business value.
Content Solution
The creative approach focused on elevating Journal House as a globally consistent yet locally expressive branded event platform that fused world-class journalism, experiential design, and ultra-premium hospitality.
A key principle was immersive, heritage-driven design. Rather than replicable corporate event structures, each Journal House was reimagined to reflect its cultural and geographic context while reinforcing the WSJ brand:
- Cannes: Located on the main pavilion at the International Festival, our space was designed as a home away from home; a creative escape that offered peaceful outdoor networking areas, alongside a dedicated programming studio for our speakers.
- New York: Expanded into Radio Park at Rockefeller Center, transformed into a green oasis during UNGA week with an outdoor garden, content studio, and a branded Citroën activation.
- Singapore: Hosted at Jiak Kim House, a restored 1920s warehouse, where custom-branded sculptural panels functioned as both design features and seating, blending aesthetics with utility.
- Davos: Delivered through a dual-level format, separating curated editorial mainstage programming from high-value networking and deal-making environments.
Programming was editorially led and precisely tailored to each market’s audience profile. High-profile speakers and thought leaders were integrated into each location to anchor discourse:
- Cannes: Focused on marketing innovation and storytelling, featuring Jimmy Fallon, Tara Davis-Woodhall, Marian Lee, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
- New York: Centered on global sustainability and governance with Dr. Jane Goodall, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and Kristalina Georgieva.
- Singapore: Addressed geopolitical risk and regional disruption with Tony Fernandes, Ziad Haider, Derek Ho, and Pedro Cebrian.
- Davos: Explored AI governance, climate strategy, and leadership with Bret Taylor, Dario Amodei, Kara Hurst, and Albert Bourla.
Premium hospitality and experiential design played a critical role in deepening engagement. Traditional networking was replaced with curated lifestyle moments, including Michelin-starred lunches in Cannes, CEO and CMO Council roundtables in Davos, and unprecedented access to Radio Park in New York, where full-service hospitality was delivered in partnership with leading Rockefeller Center restaurants and Liquid Chefs.
Innovation and sustainability were embedded throughout. Seamless technology including RFID tap-and-go registration, SevenRooms integration for scheduling and access, and frictionless content capture enhanced the attendee experience. At the same time, a circular design approach ensured reusable staging, bars, and infrastructure were carried across markets, reducing waste while maintaining premium production value.
Collectively, Journal House redefined branded events as editorially credible, culturally adaptive platforms that convened global leaders and amplified ideas internationally, driving community and commercial value for Dow Jones.

Media/Content Amplification Solution
To engage a high-caliber global audience with Journal House, we deployed a dual-engine strategy combining a targeted paid-for media campaign with high-velocity, organic social amplification.
Targeted Paid-for Media Strategy:
Our paid media budget was strategically front-loaded into pre-event promotion to maximize market visibility, drive traffic to the event website, and actively secure delegate registrations. We intentionally partnered with two core digital channels to reach senior business decision-makers internationally:
- LinkedIn Advertising: Utilized for its precise B2B capabilities to target C-suite and senior industry leaders.
- Google Display Campaigns: Deployed across global markets to build brand equity, visibility, and awareness around Journal House programming.
This deliberate channel mix successfully drove over 20,000 targeted website visits, laying a strong audience foundation ahead of the live events.
Organic Amplification:
To engage global audiences unable to attend physically, we transformed live event moments into immediate digital touchpoints. Utilizing a dedicated social media resource, we implemented a rapid video turnaround cadence. High-value insights from headline speakers were clipped, packaged, and pushed live instantly – usually within hours of the interview – to capture the real-time buzz.
Rather than focusing on static follower counts, our strategy leaned into algorithm-driven discovery feeds, timely newsjacking, and cross-collaborations with speakers, journalists, and our main corporate accounts. Instagram emerged as the primary vehicle for cultural and experiential highlights via @wsjlive, delivering massive global reach through shareable, evergreen video content.
Campaign Results & Impact:
The effectiveness of this real-time, collaborative approach is proven by our engagement metrics on Instagram Reels, particularly during major speaker moments such as:
- Post 1 — Dr. Jane Goodall (UNGA 2025): 1.6M views, 2,100 reposts, and 16.2K shares.
- Post 2 — Dr. Jane Goodall (UNGA 2025): 500K views, 13,300 likes, and 4.1K shares.
- Marian Lee (Netflix CMO, Cannes 2025): 692K views, 6,700+ likes, and 3.9K shares.
- Dario Amodei (Anthropic CEO, Davos 2026): 232K views and 1,9K likes.
Results
The results directly validate the campaign’s objective: to transform The Wall Street Journal from a media publisher into an essential convener of global business intelligence, while driving measurable business growth and deeper engagement for Dow Jones.
Global performance across Journal Houses (2025–2026)
Across four editions, Journal House consistently over-delivered on audience scale and quality, cutting through highly saturated summit environments. Strong C-suite density across all markets reinforced its focus on senior decision-maker engagement:
- Cannes: 1,000+ attendees | 38% C-suite composition.
- New York: 550+ attendees | 36% C-suite composition.
- Singapore: 280+ attendees | 33% C-suite composition.
- Davos: 1,000+ attendees | 39% C-suite composition.
Brand transformation and engagement quality:
Beyond attendance, the campaign delivered a clear shift in perception. The Wall Street Journal was increasingly recognised not as a passive media outlet, but as an active facilitator of leadership dialogue and strategic insight. Editorial programming featuring key figures reinforced its authority across business, policy, and culture.
Experience design and commercial impact:
The physical design of Journal House was central to outcomes. Private meeting spaces and structured matchmaking environments enabled exchanges between senior leaders and Dow Jones clients, converting attendance into tangible business opportunities. Sponsors consistently reported strong ROI, citing quality introductions and access to decision-makers.
Audience sentiment and commercial outcomes:
Feedback further reinforced success. Davos attendees praised the dual-level format for balancing structured content with networking, while Cannes participants described Journal House as an “oasis for creative thought.” The campaign also delivered measurable commercial impact, including direct acquisition of Wall Street Journal subscriptions via QR-driven activations such as the Citroën installation in New York.
Overall impact:
Journal House achieved its objectives by leveraging WSJ’s editorial authority to convene senior audiences, strengthen C-suite engagement, and showcase Dow Jones’ B2B solutions. It delivered business growth, community building, and commercial impact while enabling meaningful exchange among global leaders.
