Challenge

Investors have the wrong idea about Poland. Too many see Poland as up-and-coming. In reality Poland is not simply about potential, it is already a European leader – a place of high-tech innovation where business of all sizes can grow and thrive.

Strategic Solution

The aim for this campaign was to show global businesses and investors that Poland is the leading European business destination. To achieve this, we needed to shift brand perception.

Poland is one of Europe’s fastest growing economies, outpacing much of the Eurozone.  Since 1990 it has achieved over 220% GDP growth, transforming into one of the EU’s most resilient economies. Poland is Europe’s growth outlier with 3.7% GDP growth in Q1 2025 alone and over 350,000 businesses launched annually.

Despite Poland’s remarkable economic progress, a perception gap still masks Poland’s evolution into a dynamic innovation hub, home to cutting-edge startups, world-class research and a highly skilled workforce. To unlock its full potential on the global stage, we wanted to shift the narrative from overlooked to indispensable – showing Poland as a country at the heart of Europe’s next wave of innovation.

Our solution was to show real stories of business success from across the spectrum: start-ups, scale-ups and legacy brands.

This allowed us to show Poland as a stable, trustworthy and future-ready country that delivers long-term value for investors and partners.

Through emotionally rich storytelling backed by data, we highlighted the people, companies and ideas that make Poland a dependable hub for innovation and business. By reframing Poland not as an emerging market, but as a mature European success story, allowed us to build credibility, shift perceptions and drive investor confidence.

Content Solution

“Poland: Your Place to Grow” is a bold, multi-platform BBC campaign spotlighting Poland’s economic success story and showcasing why global businesses are choosing the country as a place to invest, expand and thrive – drawn by a mixture of economic strength, skilled talent, and strategic location.

A series of branded films and articles explore Poland’s transformation into a European innovation powerhouse. We created both 3 x 3-minute hero films and 3 x articles for each of our campaign’s three pillars: legacy, momentum and growth.

Legacy: here we explore the rise of Poland as a European business innovation hub. We hear from Conor Pierce, former President of Samsung Electronics Polska, who moved from the UK to Poland 3 years ago. “Poland is a unique market globally for Samsung,” says Conor Pierce, former President of Samsung Electronics Polska. “It’s the only place in Europe where we have three elements — R&D, manufacturing, and sales and operations — working together.”

Momentum: in this pillar we explore how Poland has become a fertile ground for European scaleups. We hear from Monika Król, Vice President of BLIK, about how Poland’s innovative economy and digitally advanced solutions make it a great business environment for tech solutions. BLIK is a digital payment platform created in Poland, that has expanded beyond domestic borders into neighbouring markets, driven by innovation and a growing user base and is now used by around 20 million people every day.

Growth: we discovered how start-ups can grow in Poland’s favorable business ecosystem. Poland has become a launchpad from which strong ideas, supported by technical skill, aspiration and a collaborative business culture, can grow to compete globally – we reflected this through the story of Brainly.

Media/Content Amplification Solution

The BBC’s global ecosystem offers not only unparalleled reach, but also a wide array of touchpoints. Our campaign was truly multiplatform.

On BBC News TV we ran both a 60-second and a 30 second TVC – snappy edits of the hero films showing the three respective companies and growth themes. These were served around our core business programming including our flagship shows, Talking Business and Business Today where we dissect the key business stories of the moment and what they mean for you.

On BBC.com and app we reach business leaders with emotional 3-minute film edits for each of the 3x themes, while accompanying articles dived even deeper into the story of innovation, leadership and opportunity in Poland. These branded content pages were promoted across BBC.com through high-impact interscroller and video banners delivered across key verticals such as BBC Business and BBC Innovation.

Across the BBC’s global podcast offering we ran 3x audio segments – one per story – to deliver the key moments from our leader interviews in an immersive and personal format. These segments ran as mid- and post-rolls around the BBC podcasts that business leaders listen to most: World Business Report, Business Daily and World of Business.

Finally, on social channels we delivered snappy film cut-downs across Meta and LinkedIn.

The campaign ran in calendar Q1 2026, the time when business leaders are assessing their past successes and making their plans for the year ahead.
